About this tour
Tamok Valley is one of the most beautiful winter landscapes in Northern Norway, with wide snowy plains and mountains all around. On this tour you combine the thrill of a snowmobile safari with a real meeting with Sámi culture.
After gearing up in a thermal suit, helmet, gloves and boots, you get snowmobile training from an experienced local guide. Then you ride over open mountain terrain — no previous experience is needed, and the guide makes sure the ride is safe and fun.
Afterwards you warm up in a traditional Sámi lavvu with a hearty lunch and hot drinks by the fire. The day ends at a Sámi-owned reindeer camp, where you hand-feed the reindeer and learn about the age-old herding traditions of the Sámi people.
